Two years ago, Meow was a tabby kitten. Today, he is the Heaviest Living Cat setting a world record at 39.1 pounds according to the World’s Record Academy. He has been rescued by the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society for a more healthier life. His human companion was too old to care for him and fortunately had the wisdom to bring him to our Santa Fe Animal Shelter. Fortunately, he is young enough to hopefully adapt to a healthier Santa Fe lifestyle given the new mission of our Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society. Meow certainly did not seem a candidate for even one life never mine nine as a fat cat. Hopefully, his story will remind all pet owners to pay more attention to the health and diets of their animal companions.To see Meow and more of his amazing story, click here for a short YouTube video.
